Korin had departed the holodeck on the ship Legacy and was travelling toward one of the transporter rooms. He stepped onto the turbolift for the deck that contained the nearest transporter.
"I hope," came the familiar voice of Legacy through speaker, "you are not distressed, Admiral, after you conversation with Master Torak."
Korin smiled. "No Legacy, not distress. I still have a passenger," he tapped his head, "right here. It was good to see Torak. I hope his knowledge is useful."
"He is an excellent mentor, teacher, and friend," she said. "Master Torak has great understanding and sympathy for me as none of the crew are capable. He has been with me since the beginning, before Legacy."
"Which is why he needed to stay," said Korin.
The turbolift abruptly stopped and the surroundings changed. The scene was a mixture of hazy blue mist and star glow. "Legacy?" Korin asked, but received no reply. A figure approached Korin. As it grew close, he recognized the Vulcan Kolinahr High Master Gareth. "Hello, lad," the Vulcan said to Korin. "Someone needs to talk to you and give you some information." Gareth paused. "It's going to hurt."
Gareth vanished and an indistinct figure approached. Korin was unable to determine any specifics of the individual, and when it spoke, nothing of it's voice betrayed anything of possible gender. "Protector-Guardian, there much that you and the others much be aware of that is known to the Emissary. Time and language will not permit properly sharing. So, this moment is chosen. For the pain you will briefly endure, forgiven is asked, but this is necessary." Things seemed to warp. Time seemed to fold. Korin could not see. The pain was likened to tiny needles piercing every inch of his body both externally and internally.
It seems to Korin that he would endure the pain forever. Then, it was over.
"Admiral?" It was Legacy's voice.
Korin was breathing heavily, sweat rolled down his face, wicking through the black uniform. {{I did say it was going to hurt}} came the thought from Gareth.
{{Understate things much?}} replied Korin. His hands on his knees as he leaned in one corner, he weakly waved one hand. "I'm ok, Legacy."
"My apologies, Admiral," Legacy replied. "I was able nor permitted to act." There was a pause,"Should redirect you to Medical?" Korin's breathing ease, and the dizziness abated. "No. I need to return to the Whitestar."
